A MONARCH IN LAGOS STATE SEEK CONSTITUTIONAL ROLE FOR TRADITIONAL RULERS

The paramount ruler of Igbogbo town in Ikorodu, Lagos State, Oba Semiu Kasali, on Wednesday advocated the provision of constitutional roles to traditional rulers in the country. Kasali, the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, spoke ahead of activities to officially crown him as the paramount ruler of the ancient town of Ikorodu. There had been discussions for and against granting constitutional recognition to traditional institution within the country’s democratic framework. According to Kasali, who is a lawyer by profession, the traditional institutions have come of age and should have statutory roles to fast track desired changes in their communities. He said, “I believe that the traditional institution should be accorded more opportunities in the present democratic setting that we have now. “Whatever becomes of the traditional ruler anywhere would be determined by the way and manner that person comports himself in that capacity. “As a traditional ruler you are the father of all, irrespect

CAR THIEF WHO USES SPECIAL UNLOCK DEVICE NABBED IN ENUGU STATE

In Enugu, luck has run out of a car thief who specializes in using a device he called “Try Your Luck Key” to steal vehicles parked by unsuspecting members of the public as he is in the police drag net in Enugu State. The suspect who lives in Nyanya. Nasarawa State, hails from Abia State goes by the name Ikechukwu Isaiah. He has been on the police radar since August 2016 when he stole a Toyota Camry Car with plate number BJ 697 UWN from where it was parked by the owner at Otigba Junction in Enugu. The police spoke person of Enugu Police Command, Mr Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed the incident and shed more light on Ikechukwu modus operandi, saying Isaiah was dropped by a commercial transit bus in Enugu at Otigba Junction where he stole the Toyota car. When he was apprehended, Isaiah have changed the colour and registration number of the car in Nasarawa State.
