BREAKING: Lagos State Governor, Ambode Presents N1.046 Trillion Budget For 2018 The Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has presented the 2018 budget estimate before the Lagos State House of Assembly. The projected budget size is One Trillion, Forty-six Billion, One Hundred and Twenty-one Million, One Hundred and Eighty-one Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty naira (N1,046,121). The budget has a recurrent expenditure of N347bn and a capital expenditure of N699bn. It represents 28.6 percent increase over the 2017 budget of N812 billion. The budget is tagged Budget of Progress and Development.

A traditional ruler in Ise Town, Ibeju Lekki, Lagos State, Taibu Ogunbanjo, is currently cooling his heels in police custody for allegedly crushing his wife to death. The baale runs a block-moulding factory at Folu, a community in Ibeju Lekki. According to Punch report, Taibu and his wife, Rotimi Ogunbanjo, got married three years ago, but the marriage had been fraught with misunderstanding and fights. On Thursday, December 7, 2017, the couple reportedly had a disagreement. After the altercation, His wife Rotimi was said to have gone to the baale’s factory and damaged some blocks on the premises. The Newspaper reports that Taibu entered his Toyota Highlander, and was driving out of the premises in anger when he knocked down his wife. A community leader, who identified himself simply as Akinsipe, said the wife died on the spot, adding that the corpse had been deposited at the Epe General Hospital.
